Prologue
In Final Fantasy 7, a giant energy manufacturing company known as Shinra Inc. attempts to harvest the sheer life energy of the Planet as a simple fossil fuel. These materials are processed and created into products called Mako and
Materia, providing the user with wisdom of the Ancients. The Planet's life force is being completely drained by the constant exploitation of Mako energy by Shinra. The company is aware of the negative effects arising out of this;
however, they continue on with no regrets.
Although Shinra plays a key role in the storyline, the predominant battle involves a force much more dangerous from the distant past. A dead warrior determined to become the most powerful being, linked with the draining of the Planet's
energy, threatens the existence of all.
It is up to AVALANCHE, a small rebel group established from the slums, to eliminate the dangers toward the victims. A mercenary for hire by the name of Cloud Strife must look beyond the lies and deception and attempt to find the
person he is within himself.
